LinkStar High Speed Satellite Internet System. This package is a complete LinkStar Satellite Internet System which includes:
NOTE: This system requires a 2 1/2" Schedule 40 steel pipe (2 7/8" OD) ground mount, a 2 7/8" OD non-penetrating mount, or equiv. for mounting (sold separately).
This LinkStar system is a step above the WildBlue, HughesNet, Starband and other "residential" satellite Internet systems on the market today. LinkStar services support multiple users and bandwidth intensive applications such as VOIP, VPN, Remote Desktop, much better than WildBlue and HughesNet. This 1.2m / 4 watt package is our most popular configuration, and the minimum recommended equipment for use in the Continental U.S. for a variety of service levels and applications.

This system is our most popular VSAT system for use in residential and small business applications where the HughesNet, WildBlue and Starband systems don't quite cut it! This is also our most popular system for providing VOIP (telephone over Internet) service to remote locations. This system along with a 1mb x 256k speed packge @ $149 a month, and a Net2Phone VOIP service @ $19.95 per month will provide you with decent VOIP service which includes: unlimited toll free calling to the U.S. and Canada, as well as free calling features such as Caller Id, Call Waiting, Three Way Calling, Voicemail and more! So.. only $175 a month or less for high speed Internet and telephone service, no matter where you live... on or off the grid!
Here's why we recommend LinkStar! Although HughesNet, WildBlue and others work great for 1 - 2 concurrent users, and for standard surfing, e-mailing, etc. they cannot properly support additional users without dramatically slowing down. They also cannot properly support VOIP, VPN and so on. This is due to the number of users that they allow to fit through each "pipe" to the satellite. While the HughesNet user ratio can be as much as 400:1, companies like LinkStar and iDirect, etc. offer user ratios of 100:1, 50:1 and even 1:1 if you need it! This simply means that when only 100 others share that same size "connection" to the satellite, there is more bandwidth available to properly support multiple users, VOIP, VPN and so on without any significant speed loss.
