It will keep snow and ice from collecting on your dish and can also reduce rain fade by up to 75%. Hot Shot heater kits are the preferred heating system of most satellite television installers as they can be powered over an existing spare coaxial cable run. Simply peel-n-stick the Hot Shot element to the front or back of your dish (depending upon the application). Mount the transformer in a dry environment next to a 110v electrical outlet. Run the included 100' of low-voltage cable to the element on your dish and attach accordingly. Plug in the transformer and your dish will be protected from snow and ice buildup via the thermostatically controlled heating element.
The HotShot heating
element has an automatic thermostat that turns on just above freezing
temperatures and off when the dish surface heats up. The HotShot heating
element is an exclusive patented invention that has been offered for
over 13 years and is used by many thousands of dish owners in snowy
climates to aid reception when the weather gets testy. This blanket is
designed to be powered by the HSPS24AC7AMP-S and features:
- Durable vinyl material lasts a long time
- Etched foil resistance heating element
- Multiple heat zones apply the maximum heat where it’s needed most
- 3M Acrylic adhesive assures a tight bond to the antenna
- Conforms to the reflectors curves and angles
- Does not affect signal strength
- Mounts on the front or back of the DirecTV Slimline HD antennas
- Fits and works for a variety of other TV and Internet Antenna systems as well!
Voltage: 120 volt AC Power Cord w/ 24vdc transformer (UL and CE Compliant)
The HotShot brand of satellite dish antenna heaters and heating systems have been around a long, long time. The first heaters went on the back of the dish during assembly, but the new models are built to just stick on the front of the dish, making post-installation installations simple and easy.
The HotShot is preferred by professional installers for residential and commercial installations to provide reliable and dependable satellite television service even in the worst of conditions. The Hot Shot will keep snow and ice from collecting on the dish, and optional arm and feed horn elements can be added on to the existing Hot Shot face element to prevent snow and ice buildup on the arm and feed horn of the dish as well if necessary!
The HotShot element is powered by 24v DC, so you can actually use a spare coaxial cable run to the dish to power the heating element. When we install the Hot Shots, we usually solder and shrink-wrap a 6" chunk or so of the included low voltage cord onto the coaxial cable center conductor and shielding on each end to enable us to connect the cable to the transformer and to the element. This prevents having another wire running up to or out to your dish, and allows us to mount the transformer in a utility room, garage, etc. or wherever the spare coaxial cable is hanging!
