The BIRDOG Satellite Signal Meter is the choice of professionals and the "cat's meow" when it comes to locating and peaking onto a satellite. Unlike the beepers and other meters on the market, you won't hear the lock until you hit the right "bird!" You simply set your basic coordinates on the dish, select the satellite you wish to point to on the BIRDOG and slowly move across the sky. When you pass across the sky, you will be able to watch the signal levels move up and down as you cross the various satellites, but once you hit the satellite that you have selected, the BIRDOG will let you know by chirping and showing you the signal quality so you can peak the dish accordingly.

WILDBLUE
(DMTC Compatibility) WildBlue™ has begun introducing dynamic/adaptive modulation (Multi-Rate) into their signal. The BirDog Ultra has Multi-Rate Downstream Technology Compatibility and will directly on to the next generation of WildBlue™ services which feature dynamic/adaptive modulation. Eventually the entire WildBlue™ network will adopt the Multi Rate Downstream Technology, making some other meters obsolete in this respect.

ZIP CODE LOOKUP
The new Zip Code feature enables you to quickly enter your installation site Zip Code to obtain your look angles and is pre-loaded as one complete table. Zip Code updates are also available as a single download via the BirDog Ultra support web site.

USER FRIENDLY
Any one who has used a BirDog will already be familiar with using the BirDog Ultra as the easy to use menu system has been expanded upon to take advantage of the new additional features that the BirDog Ultra offers.

EXPANDED MEASUREMENT DISPLAY
The BirDog ultra also features an expanded linear measurement display for use with any installation but is especially valuable with Ka signals such as WildBlue® or DIRECTV Ka/Ku This display allows for extremely fine adjustments to maximize the performance of the WildBlue Ka-Band ODU ®antenna or DIRECTV Ka/Ku assembly by increasing sensitivity to movement, optimizing the available signal and maximizing the system performance.

COMPLETE POWER SOLUTION
The BirDog Ultra provides an all in one power solution without the need to purchase additional power step up devices. The BirDog Ultra is equipped with a dual mode power supply, delivering 13, 18, 21, and 30 Volts which enable the direct powering of LNB assemblies such as the ®DIRECTV SWiM™ and ODU utilizing the latest Li-Po Lithium Polymer battery technology that also provides greatly extended operating times.

CONSTELLATION DIAGRAM
The constellation diagram is another useful tool for the detection of faults by visually representing noise in the signal which can be caused by poor alignment and faulty or inadequate equipment.

SPECTRUM DISPLAY
The spectrum display capability is a useful additional feature for visually verifying the presence of satellite signals. With this feature you can quickly see the presence of carriers and when used in conjunction with the extensive custom carrier feature it enables a high degree of fault finding and trouble shooting installations

UNIVERSAL COMPATIBILITY
Works with almost any satellite television or satellite Internet system and service! Automatically controls some integrated switches and multi-switches! The BIRDOG is fully programmable and new satellites and configurations can be added from the www.birdog.tv site as needed by simply connecting the BIRDOG to your compuer via the included USB cable.

This package includes the BIRDOG Meter, case, a USB cable, a 12vdc car charger, and a 110v charging cord as well as instructions!

We bought our first Birdog in 2006, and I wish we would have bought one in 2003!  We went from spending 20 minutes finding a satellite and peaking a dish, to about 3 minutes. No more "wrong satellites" for us!  I bet our Birdog paid for itself in about 6 months if you count the time we saved on-site!  And just ask one of the traveling RV'ers with the "portable" HughesNet and DISH or DirecTV systems how well they like the Birdog!  Now they can spend their time doing something entertaining rather than fighting a satellite dish for hours!
